Asthma

To be honest, as a moderate asthma sufferer I don't think it has had as big an effect on my training as the gout.

Occassionally I experience breathing difficulties whilst training, especially when doing heavy sets. Not sure if this is a mental thing i.e. anxiety and stress bringing on a bout of exercise induced asthma. If this happens, I will take some time out try to relax my breathing. Concentrate on breathing through my diaphragm. If this hasn't helped I will take a few puffs of my ventolin inhaler, wait for it to kick in and at the same time focusing on relaxing myself and then do the set.

On a few occasions that this hasn't worked, I will abandon the set and do some light weights or if it is really bad abandon the workout completely. The big thing I find is to try and relax.

Hopefully my big push to do more cardio will help improve my Asthma.
