About

Just an average family guy trying to get strong.

I have been training now since about 2002 (always drug free) and after starting a young family my strength dipped dramatically. Now the kids are a bit older I am trying to build it back up again.

This isn’t as easy as it sounds with the old work/life balance thing. I have a 2 hour 40 minute round trip to work on a good day, I work a regular job and most importantly I try to make as much time to spend with my family as possible.

I also have asthma and gout which can be problematic, especially concerning diet and watching my protein intake (high protein intake can trigger an attack). Also with getting older (37 years old as of 2011), my recovery ability is not as good as it was.

Saying that I seem to be getting the job done and have made some OK gains in the last year or two. So if anyone reading this thinks they are too busy, a reality check here – in most circumstances, if you want it bad enough you will find time, otherwise just put it down to you being a lazy ass pussy. Even if you can only spare an hour a week for training, you can still  do the do –  always better to do something than doing nothing.

Sounds a bit cliched but the gym is my haven and without it I would probably go nuts, it’s like my therapy and keeps me in check.
